Mr. Heller is an attorney for Advocates for Basic Legal Equality who represents migrant farmworkers and immigrant workers throughout Ohio in the areas of employment, civil rights, and immigration law. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, he graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University and then completed a joint law and social work program (J.D. – M.S.W.) at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He was selected to the ROI Migrant Farmworker Advocate Hall of Fame in 2000. In 2002 he won an immigrants’ rights case before the Supreme Court of Ohio regarding the requirement of a Social Security number for marriage license applicants. He has an active federal court and immigration court practice, along with representation of clients in non-litigation matters concerning immigration, employment, and civil rights. He is the President of the Board of the Ohio Catholic Rural Life Conference’s Immigrant Worker Project.
