"I thought the Law Clinic program was a great experience. There aren’t enough courses in law school that offer the experience of working with a real client. It’s one thing to read about someone in a case book from 100 years ago with a problem. It’s quite another to stand in front of a judge with a real client facing real jail time and/or real financial penalties. The first time you stand up in court to talk to the judge is both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. The camaraderie of the Law Clinic has also been a great place to learn from the students, staff, and faculty. I found the experience to be invaluable and hope that these relationships carry over into professional life."

"The Law Clinic has taught me the one thing no law school class can teach a student: compassion for others. Through meeting with clients, working with students and professors, and interacting with judges and other courtroom personnel, I have learned that a lawyer must be more than a paper-pushing robot. Lawyer, especially those who do criminal defense work, must be willing to put their personal beliefs aside and listen, not just hear, what a client has to say. The Law Clinic, I believe, has been able to provide some much needed guidance as well as superb legal representation, to many people, and I do believe many of these people are grateful for that."

"I have immensely enjoyed my clinic experience. The Law Clinic requires a significant amount of time and dedication, but it is more than worth it. Having the opportunity, while still in school, to actually represent clients and appear in court is priceless. The support we receive from our advisors and each other fosters the optimal learning environment. If you have the opportunity to experience the Law Clinic, I would highly recommend doing so. You will receive priceless legal experience, and your clients will receive dedicated and caring representation."
