Monique Lampke joined UDSL in the position of Externship Supervisor after nine years as a litigator in both the public and private sector in central Ohio. Professor Lampke was employed at the law firm of Porter, Wright, Morris, and Arthur as a litigation attorney for more than five years in its Columbus, Ohio, office where she litigated cases in the state and federal courts in the areas of business and commercial disputes, employment, personal injury, product liability, and medical malpractice. She also served on the firm's recruiting and pro bono committees. Prior to joining Porter Wright, Professor Lampke served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Ohio Attorney General's office in the Court of Claims Defense section where she successfully tried approximately 15 bench trials and 8 appeals. During her tenure as a litigator, Professor Lampke has represented a wide-ranging variety of clients, including corporations, hospitals, law firms, universities, bar associations, and many state agencies and entities.
Professor Lampke graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in psychology and political science. She graduated from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1997 where she was a member of The Ohio State University Law Journal, served as an Appellate Advocacy coordinator, clerked for the Tenth District Court of Appeals, and successfully prosecuted a jury trial as part of a prosecution clinic.
Professor Lampke was also the President of the Ohio Women's Bar Association from 2005-2006. She has also been active in the community, serving as a board member of the mid-Ohio chapter for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Days of Creation - Arts for Kids, and the Friends of the Bexley Public Library. She has also served as a steering committee member of the Interfaith Legal Clinic sponsored by the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation, a member of the Columbus Bar Association Delivery of Legal Services committee, a member of the United Way Young Leadership Group, and volunteered with the Bexley Education Foundation.
Professor Lampke lives in Bexley, Ohio, near Columbus with her husband and their two young children.
