Chris Martin came to the Zimmerman Law Library in March of 2007 after moving to the Dayton area the previous year. As an Evening Circulation Assistant, he is responsible for organizing and updating library materials, assisting patrons with circulation questions, and overseeing student workers.
After receiving his undergraduate degree in history from Ball State University, Mr. Martin stayed at Ball State to enter their history graduate program and earned his master's in December 2004. He also earned a master's degree in popular culture from Bowling Green State University in May 2006, and has worked as a graduate assistant for both Ball State's Department of Archives and Special Collections and Bowling Green State's Browne Popular Culture Library. Additionally, he taught an introductory course in popular culture during his time at Bowling Green State. He has written theses on the reception of British recruitment propaganda posters during the First World War and on the role of embodiment in how music audiences actively determine their listening experiences.
During his spare time, Mr. Martin likes to follow literature from subjects related to his educational background, including popular music scholarship, social and cultural theory, modern history, and religious analysis. He also enjoys listening to music from several different genres, walking, playing video games, watching documentaries, and spending too much money at Trader Joe's.
