As Program Manager and Counselor for Career Services, Julie Jackson coordinates all career-related events, including guest speakers, workshops, panel discussions and job fairs and conducts seminars on interviewing and time management skills. Aside from her programming responsibilities, she also counsels students on how to search for legal jobs, reviews their resumes and cover letters, prepares job search materials, and updates the career services website.
Ms. Jackson holds an Associate of Arts degree with high honors from Sinclair Community College and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Management from the University of Dayton. Prior to coming to the School of Law in 1989, Ms. Jackson worked for 11 years as a sales administration manager for an international corporation. Attracted to the academic atmosphere of UD, she finds helping the students to be the most rewarding part of her job. They often come to her office requesting assistance with writing their cover letters and resumes, finding a job, or preparing for an upcoming interview. “We provide numerous job search resources to help students make career decisions that suit their personal and professional goals,” she says.
Outside of work, Ms. Jackson enjoys cooking, gardening and renovating her home.
