The Federalist Society began as a way for students to challenge the orthodox American ideology typically found at law schools. The Federalist Society is for separation of powers and believes the role of the judicial branch is to say what the law is, not what it should be. At UDSL, the Federalist Society promotes these ideas by sponsoring prominent speakers who discuss engaging topics.
