Helen Megson came to the School of Law five years ago and currently serves as Senior Administrative Secretary/Coordinator. She assists the law professors with correspondence, scholarly articles, and papers. She also coordinates colloquiums for the law school which consists of two or more major programs during the year. Ms. Megson drafts, proofreads, and oversees the mailing of approximately 20,000 brochures and interacts with well-known and respected speakers who share their expertise with the attendees at the seminars. In addition, she develops and maintains databases and arranges program venues and catering.
Before coming to the University of Dayton, Ms. Megson owned a horse farm with her husband. They bred, boarded, trained, and raced horses for twenty years. Since the business had its ups and downs, she was attracted to the stability of the university, as well as its academic environment. Ms. Megson also has an artistic flair and enjoys designing floral arrangements and oil painting. Two of her pieces of artwork are hanging in her office, and she has presented several on Ebay. She also enjoys biking and antiquing while not at work.
