As Information Technology Manager, Margaret Thomas is responsible for all technology relating to the School of Law, including the network, computers, audio-visual equipment, and the website. She also does strategic planning, network administration, and supports faculty and staff. Around campus, she represents the law school in information technology meetings and works with other departments regarding technology usage.
Ms. Thomas came to the University of Dayton nearly ten years ago. She previously worked as a technology trainer for Appleton Paper but was drawn to the university’s academic nature, as well as the opportunity to take classes. Ms. Thomas hasn’t always worked with computers, however. She has operated a marina, worked as freelance graphic artist, managed a design department, and also worked as an RF designer, though she enjoys the diversity of her current job. “I like interacting with the students,” she says. “They’re never boring!”
When not at the computer, Ms. Thomas enjoys reading, gardening, spending time outdoors, and working on puzzles of almost any kind, from jigsaw to three-dimensional to crossword puzzles.
