This year during Alumni Weekend, the School of Law is pleased to offer you an opportunity to catch up with old friends and former professors while providing meaningful service to those in need.
For nearly two centuries, the poor and needy of the world have found a friend in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Locally, the organization has been providing food, clothing, household items, emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and other services to indigent, low-income, and homeless men, women, and children of the Miami Valley for over 60 years.
On Saturday, May 17, 2008, from 8:30am – 3:30pm, UDSL alumni will come together to put UD’s Catholic-Marianist philosophy into practice. There are a variety of needs at St. Vincent’s that our alumni can help to meet, including food preparation and service, child care, gardening, painting, sorting donations, laundry and cleaning. A special part of the day will be dedicated to throwing a cookout for the families that call St. Vincent’s home.
You can sign up for this group volunteer project along with all the other Alumni Weekend events, including the awards luncheon and alumni dinner, by mailing in the accompanying registration form or by contacting Lee Ann Ross at (937) 229-3793 or Lee_Ann.Ross@notes.udayton.edu by Friday, May 2, 2008. If you indicate that you are interested in volunteering with other alumni at St. Vincent’s, the School will be in touch with more details about where the group will meet on Saturday the 17th.
Send in your reservation today! We look forward to seeing you!
