Our graduates take the bar in Ohio as well as in many other states where they plan to practice, most notably Indiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
The University of Dayton School of Law is concerned not only about life while in law school, but also about life after law school. The school seeks to provide students with an education that prepares them for a professional life in the practice of law. Thus, the school is committed to assist students to prepare for and pass a bar examination in any state where they choose to practice.
To accomplish this goal, the school conducts The Road to Bar Passage program, beginning in the first year and continuing throughout the three years of law school. The Road to Bar Passage intensifies in the third year, running a program of workshops intended to inform students about bar examinations, how to prepare for them, what to expect when you arrive, and how the scoring is accomplished. The program also includes many opportunities to practice sample bar exam questions, including not only essays, but also multiple choice questions and new practice tests.
The Career Services Office also assists students with bar exam preparation by providing information about procedures for bar exams in various states.
