The School of Law is committed to developing in its students the essential lawyering skills that the practice of law demands. Thus, the Lawyer as Problem Solver program continues to feature UDSL's highly respected Legal Profession Program. This program, developed in 1988, is a comprehensive two-semester, six-credit-hour sequence devoted to building legal research, analysis, and writing skills in the context of the evolving technology used in law practice.
Throughout the Legal Profession sequence, students are trained in such important skills as accessing and understanding legal authority and effectively communicating legal analysis within the context of specific practice areas. As a result, our students quickly develop the strong professional skills necessary to be productive and efficient.
Legal Profession classes meet in small groups with experienced full-time faculty. These courses stress the practical application of research and writing skills necessary to produce clear, effective legal documents.
