The Honorable Jeffrey Froelich

Jeff Froelich is a judge with the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court and has been an adjunct professor at the University of Dayton School of Law since 1995.

After graduating from the University of Michigan Law School, Judge Froelich became an assistant prosecutor for Montgomery County until 1976, when he began teaching at the University of Dayton School of Law. He taught criminal law and family law as an assistant professor and also served as the first director of the school’s Law Clinic. Judge Froelich then entered private practice as a partner at Louis & Froelich while presiding over the Montgomery County District Court. In 1994 he was elected to the Common Pleas Court. He served as Administrative Judge from 2001 to 2003 and currently chairs the Judicial Executive Committee.

Judge Froelich serves on the Montgomery County Judicial Corrections Board, Criminal Justice Council, and is active in A Special Wish Foundation, Inc. He is a member and past president of the Dayton Bar Association, and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the American Judicature Society.
