Housing

Keller Hall

The University of Dayton and the Dayton community offer a wide variety of housing options for students. Plumwood Terrace is an on-campus apartment facility that is open to first-year law students. In the Dayton metropolitan area you will also find homes, condominiums, and townhouses to rent or buy, as well as an array of apartments to fit any lifestyle.

On-Campus Housing

Plumwood Terrace contains efficiencies, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments that are furnished. The building is located within three blocks of the School of Law and L-Street offers a limited number of efficiency units for rent. On-campus options are not only furnished, but also include the cost of utilities, free cable, and high speed internet. If you desire on-campus housing, you can reserve your space as soon as you have paid your first seat deposit.

Off-Campus Housing

For off-campus housing, rents generally range from $350 - $700 or more, depending on tastes in décor and location and if students are living alone or with a roommate or group. Many students live near campus, in surrounding suburbs, or even commute from the Cincinnati area. Some of our law students take advantage of the renovated lofts available in downtown Dayton. Beginning Fall 2007, law students can opt for the newly built University Place apartments, located across the street from Keller Hall.

Parking

To park on campus and on the streets surrounding the University of Dayton, students must purchase a parking permit, whether they live on campus or off campus. All students who wish to purchase a parking permit should do so at the earliest possible date (set by the parking office). A parking permit, however, does not necessarily guarantee a parking space, so we encourage students to take public transportation whenever possible. For general parking information, visit UD's Parking Services website.

More information about housing and parking is available to students once they are admitted to the School of Law. The Admissions staff will be happy to counsel students and answer any questions or concerns about on-campus and off-campus housing in the Dayton community.
