Putting it All Together

All students are required to complete either a capstone course or a clinical experience related to their chose curricular track.  This requirement is designed to be the closure to your track-specific coursework.

What are the Goals of the Requirement?

You will demonstrate an ability to apply the substantive knowledge and practical skills acquired during your education to real legal problems.

How Do Capstone Courses Accomplish These Goals?

Capstone courses provide deeper, substantive material on a focus area related to your chosen curricular track.  In the capstone courses, you will receive a simulated problem which you will solve as if it were occurring in a real work setting.

How Do Clinical Experiences Accomplish These Goals?

For the clinical experience, you will work under a licensed attorney in the Law Clinic. You will be responsible for three to six cases during the semester. Successful completion of this experience will require in-court appearances, so you will need a limited license to participate.
