Award Winners Share Gratitude and Fun during Alumni Weekend

Whelley II, and Lori Shaw achieved success and recognition in their law careers. It has also taken pride in its relationship with John Kessler and Jack Davis, legal professionals who matriculated elsewhere, but have made a significant impact on their profession and the School of Law.

2004 UDSL grad and former editor of the Law Review, Dale A. Riedel, Major, USAF, Area Defense Counsel at Bolling Air Force Base writes that this summer he will begin work at the Air Force’s only court of appeals to be the Honors Law Clerk for the Chief Judge. “I’ve never forgotten the UD philosophy of applying for judicial clerkships and thought it could never happen. There are only three clerks in the Air Force and fortunately I was selected.”

Professor Brenner's paper, "Should Online Defamation Be Criminalized?" was recently listed on SSRN's Top Ten download list for "LSN Science, Technology & Innovation Research Papers." Brenner is also working on two books for top academic publishers this summer.

Tom Rudolph, UDSL ’82, a civil servant environmental attorney at AFMC Headquarters (at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) since 1988, published an article in the Air Force Law Review last fall, "Terrorism, Natural Disasters and Environment Reporting." It discusses the various environmental release/incident reporting rules promulgated under Federal law and whether they would be triggered by terrorist events and natural disasters.
