The Dean’s Classic Softball Tournament and the 18th Annual Honorable Carl D. Kessler Scholarship Golf Tournament are the weekend of September 28, 2007, but alumni, students, and faculty should start forming teams now to enter to compete in this year’s play.

The Dean’s Classic is a co-ed, low competitive softball tournament that provides the opportunity for UDSL alumni and students to build relationships in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. All players are rewarded by their sportsmanlike participation. The tournament will begin Friday, September 28 at 9pm with a Bracket Party; watch for more information on this event. Play begins at the NCR softball fields the next morning at 8am; the last game of the day is played at 8pm. Play continues on Sunday the 30th until the championship game is played at 6pm.

All teams that enter the Dean’s Classic must consist of at least 10 players, and half of each team’s members must be UDSL alumni or students. There also must be two women on each team. Alumni teams may register for $135 per team and student teams may register for $70 per team.

Teams of four may start forming for the 18th Annual Honorable Carl D. Kessler Scholarship Golf Tournament, though individuals may also register and will be paired by the Tournament Director. The Tournament takes place at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace and begins with a shot gun start at 1pm on Friday, September 28, 2007. Every golfer will receive a golf shirt and hat, and the winning team will be presented with the Joseph E. Connelly Cup. All golfers will be eligible to win a grand prize. Registration for golf and dinner is $135 per person and $70 per student. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Hon. Carl D. Kessler Scholarship Fund at the University of Dayton School of Law.
