Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP
Program in Law Religion & Ethics

This year’s Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP Program in Law Religion & Ethics at the University of Dayton School of Law, The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005: Legislating Economic Prudence or Responding to Economic Pressure?, will be held Monday, February 26 and Tuesday, February 27 in Joseph E. Keller Hall.

The symposium, which is open to the public, will provide an opportunity to assess the effect of the 2005 Act nearly two years after becoming law, and feature a range of speakers close to the legislation and its effects.

Panel discussions will cover means testing, credit counseling, and attorney liability issues. The keynote address will be given by Brady Williamson, Chair of the Bankruptcy Commission, and United States Bankruptcy Judge Eugene Wedoff, from Chicago, who largely created the means test forms and who is known nationally both for his consumer bankruptcy expertise as well as for being the judge who has the United Airlines case.

A special rate for out-of-town guests is being offered at the Dayton Marriott Hotel, 1414 South Patterson Blvd. Dayton, OH 45402, (937) 223-1000. Our event brochure contains more information about the symposium, featured speakers, CLE credit, and how to register.
